Time Management

I have been struggling with finding time to rejuvenate. Organizations expect without saying to be on call 24 hours a day. You get emails and text messages all hours of the day and night. Whatever happened to don't call after 9pm? Or don't instant message during meetings? Plain old communications ettiquette is days gone by. So how do you control this so you can perform at peak when it is most important? I am trying a few things to see if I can balance my personal time and leave time for family and friends but especially for me.

  • Make dinner an experience. Sit down with your partner or a friend and put your telephone away.  Talk to each other and get reacquainted.
  • Plan to spend time alone to read a book, watch a movie or just meditate a couple times during the week. Your brain and body need relaxation.
  • Get at least 7 hours of sleep a night and some form of exercise a few times a week.

I found this great affordable red blend at Total Wine called Secret Reserve. It was full of fruit, soft tannins, low acidity and smooth. It was a Reserva from Chile under wine label of Santa Rita. It was a limited release so could only get a few bottles. Yummy.
